Permits & Inspections
To offer our customers the best quoted prices, we ask that the homeowner assume responsibility for the permit and inspection if required by their city for water heater installations. If the city inspection identifies an issue, we will come back, address it, and fix it at no charge.
Sometimes customers ask us to manage the entire permit and inspection process for them, end-to-end with the city. We can do that for an additional $500.
If the homeowner handles it, it should cost around $150 to contact the city, let them know a water heater was installed, and request an inspection. Cities know water heaters sometimes need to be replaced quickly and do not penalize homeowners for requesting an inspection afterward.
Our goal is to help our customers save money. So rather than charging the customer an extra $500, we recommend the homeowner requests the city permit and inspection themselves if their city requires it.
