Pricing & Payment
11 questionsTax is not included on our published prices on our website. Depending on what county you reside in, we will apply the appropriate sales tax rate to the published prices you see.
Our prices generally always include bringing everything up to code with connections, drain pans, pressure release valves, flex pipe, expansion tanks and valves. However, we will ask you to send us pictures of your old water heater ahead of time that will help us understand your environment so we can help you be aware of any extra costs that might occur.
Our core service is priced only to replace existing water heaters with new ones and make sure everything associated with the new water heater is upgraded to code. If there is damage from a prior leaking water heater that needs cleanup or repair, we can provide you with a separate repair quote as our owner is also a licensed general contractor with the State of Utah. We can also recommend our restoration partners.
Yes – We will make every effort to honor our quoted price if the job stays within the stated scope of replacing the existing water heater with a new one and making sure everything associated with the new water heater is upgraded to code and tested.
No.
No. When we arrive with your new water heater, we may ask you to sign a statement agreeing that you will pay once the installation is complete.
Yes. We also take cash and payment via Venmo.
Cash discounts may be available if they are negotiated prior to the crew arriving at the job site.
We will have financing options available by the end of 2026.
Yes – We will not be beat! If you provide a recent full-installation price quote for a comparable size and type of water heater from another local company that is actively in business, then we will not only match the price, but beat it! (Send us the quote to pricematch@utahwaterheatersnow.com)
If you have a coupon from a door hanger, flier, or business card, just show the coupon to our licensed plumber and he can apply the discount when you are paying after the job is complete.

Installation Process
11 questionsIt is anticipated that the removal and installation will take approximately 1 to 3 hours, as long as the job stays within the stated scope of replacing the existing water heater with a new one and making sure everything associated with the new water heater is upgraded to code.
Each installation job consists of two parts. The first part is the Delivery, Drain, Disconnect and Dispose; and the second part is the Install, Piping, Connect, Test, Flush, Safety Check, and Train. The first team member will show up and assess the environment, turn off gas, turn off water, drain the old water heater, un-package the new water heater, discard packaging, and wait for the Licensed Plumber team member to arrive. When the Licensed Plumber arrives, they will install the new water heater, connect all piping, test everything, flush the system to the nearest bathtub or shower, perform a safety check, and train you on your new water heater before departure.
Our professional installation includes a new water heater pan tray, plumbing the pan to drains, shut off valve, pressure relief valve, potable pressure expansion tank, and new flex pipe and connections where needed to bring everything up to code. We do not include insulation around hot water pipes.
The pressure relief valve will be plumbed to drain into the catch pan if necessary.
Yes. And we also properly dispose of the old water heater at a recycle facility for you.
In most cases, only the hot water will be unavailable during installation. But there are some homes that require all water to be turned off. In either case, it will be turned off during the entire duration of the installation, which is anticipated to be around 1 to 3 hours.
As part of our licensed installation and testing services, we do a preliminary flush by running water through your home to the nearest bathtub or shower until the water is clear. We make sure it's working properly with no leaks and confirm that the water in the new water heater is heating prior to departure. After we leave, you can use your water heater immediately.
Yes. When we drain the existing water heater, we will use hoses and pumps. We will install a drain pan under the new water heater if needed. If plumbing to the nearest drain is desired, we will discuss that with you prior to disconnecting and removing your existing water heater, and we will refer you to our general-purpose plumbing partner company who can give you a more detailed quote.
We make every attempt to bring the water heater, connections, venting, and pipe up to code. Most typical upgrades include increasing the 3" venting to code-compliant 4" venting. If your existing water heater location is not compatible with code, we will discuss that with you prior to disconnecting and removing your existing water heater, and we will refer you to our general-purpose plumbing partner company.
Before we arrive, we will ask you for pictures of your current water heater. If the current water heater is not accessible, we will refer you to our general service plumber partner company.
After you book your appointment time, a member of our staff will call you to help you determine the size and type of your current water heater.

Water Heater Knowledge
13 questionsTo reduce risk of injury, we will set the water heater no hotter than 120°F (49°C).
As per manufacturers' recommendations, homeowners should flush their water heaters annually.
Yes. If you would like a water softener installed, we can refer you to our general-purpose plumbing partner company.
Typically, a water heater will last between 8–12 years. If your water heater is older than 8 years and you are experiencing issues, especially leaking, it may be time to replace it.
The size of the water heater you need depends on the number of people in your household and the number of bathrooms in your home. A 40-gallon water heater is typically sufficient for a household of 2–3 people, while a 50-gallon water heater is recommended for a household of 3–5 people.
If your water heater is making strange noises, it may be a sign that sediment has built up in the tank. Flushing the tank can help resolve this issue. If the noises persist, it may be time to replace the water heater.
If you can't turn off the water to your water heater using the shut off valve on or near the water heater, find the main water shut off valve for your home and shut it off from there.
If you can't turn off the gas to the water heater using the shut off valve on or near the water heater, find the main gas shut off valve for your home and shut it off from there.
Find the shut off valve on or near the water heater and turn off the water. If you can't find the shut off valve, find the main water shut off valve for your home.
Immediately shut off the water supply (typically clockwise on the cold pipe) and cut the power (breaker for electric or "pilot" for gas) to prevent damage and shock. Contain the water with buckets, towels, or a wet vac.
Find a shut-off valve, typically located near the water heater on the cold-side or input-side pipe that feeds the water heater. If there isn't a shut-off valve near the water heater, locate the shut-off valve for the entire home. If you can't find the shut-off valve in either case, immediately call our full-service plumbing partner company, Quick Quality Plumbing @ 801-763-7835 or visit quickqualityplumbingutah.com.
The shut-off valve for a 40–50 gallon tank water heater is typically located on the pipe leading into the top of the heater, usually marked by a blue handle or a lever on the right-side (cold water) pipe. Turn the handle 90 degrees (perpendicular to the pipe) to shut it off.
If the proper valve is in place, turning off the water to the water heater should not turn off the water to your whole house. In some homes, however, turning off the water to the whole house may be necessary if the proper shut-off valve is not in place for your current water heater. If this is the case, we will install the proper shut-off valve for you and educate you on it before leaving.
